After traveling in Taiwan and rescuing several dogs, Rachel came back to the Okanagan to pursue her career in the veterinary industry. Rachel graduated from Thompson River's University as a RVT in 2008. Dr. Veenis brought Rachel on as soon as she graduated….and the rest is history. He has yet to shake her after years of trying…and she continues to hang about. In 2019, Rachel decided being an RVT (and a mom of two human girlies, as well as her 2 cats and 2 senior pups) wasn't keeping her busy enough, so she took on the challenge of Hospital Manager but in 2025 decided to step down from management to focus on RVT duties. We're so grateful to have her as part of the team!
